Frequently asked questions
What makes the Obasan Classic Dunlop Latex Mattress stand out from other latex mattresses?
It combines a firm base 2" layer with a customizable 4" middle core and a 2" soft top, plus a 1" organic wool topper for pressure relief. Each Dunlop latex layer is wrapped to reduce friction, and the cover is GOTS-certified organic cotton with wool to help regulate temperature.
How does the queen or king customization work for this mattress?
In larger sizes, the center 4" Dunlop latex core can be customized by zone, allowing different firmness areas to suit each sleeping side for better personalized support.
What materials are used in this mattress and how are they finished?
The mattress uses 100% GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex with a GOTS-certified organic cotton jersey cover quilted with 900g of organic wool. Layers are individually wrapped and encased to reduce friction between them.
How should I set up and support this mattress for best performance?
Place it on an Obasan hardwood foundation or a solid wood slat base with 1–4 inch-wide slats spaced no more than 3 inches apart. Ensure a middle support for larger sizes and avoid placing it directly on the floor.
What kinds of rooms or sleepers is this mattress best for?
It’s designed for adults of all builds and is suitable for those who want customizable firmness zones and pressure-point relief, plus temperature regulation from the wool topper and cotton cover.
How do I care for this mattress to keep it in good condition?
Unzip the outer cover for spot cleaning with light soap and minimal water. Do not wash any mattress components or get it wet, and avoid placing it directly on the floor.
